Bajaj Pulsar 250 Highlights

Bajaj Auto is working on expanding the Pulsar platform with the likely solution arising in the form of a Pulsar 250. The Chakan-based manufacturer has already built motorcycles with KTM-derived engines like NS 200 and RS 200 twins as well as the Dominar 400. So expect the upcoming Pulsar 250 to follow the same path. The last major update to the Pulsar range came in the form of the NS 160 in 2017, post which there have only been minor styling updates or bolstering the models with twin disc setups. The 250 Duke’s motor is not as high strung as its other Duke brethren, but we guess Bajaj will detune the motor slightly to suit the Pulsar’s characteristics of being a solid all-rounder. Thus, from producing 30PS and 24Nm, the motor is likely to produce 28PS and 23Nm. It is also likely to make the said performance numbers lower down the rev range to aid overall usability. The motorcycle will get Triple Spark as well as DTS-i technology that Bajaj’s sporty motorcycles are known to feature. The styling will be in line with the NS bikes so far but we might see LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster and perhaps even dual-channel ABS. It is supposed to sit bang in the middle of the NS 200 and the Dominar 400. Hence, expect it to be priced somewhere around the Rs 1.3 lakh – Rs 1.5 lakh mark. It is not likely to hit the production line anytime soon but we could see it in action somewhere around 2020.
