University of Mysore plans dedicated e-payment facility on campus

MYSURU: The first university of the state, University of Mysore

 

, which will be holding its 100th convocation this year, is set to make a big leap forward in its online services. The university is all set to convert its campus into a digital one through a dedicated e-payment

 gate-way facility.

The university is planning to allow the students to pay their various fees using UPI like Phonepe and other digital wallets which will enable them to use the online services offered by the university from anywhere, anytime.

According to the authorities, the university invited Expression of Interest (EoI) from the e-payment gate-way service providers to allow the students to make payment via digital mode without any security issues.

University registrar R Shivappa said that presently the students and other service providers are facing various inconveniences while making online payments. “Our idea is to allow the students and others use all kinds of digital wallets and bank accounts to make the payment quickly. We also want to use the same e-payment gate-way to make various reimbursements and payments from our side also,” he said.

According to sources, the university is planning to use this e-payment gate-way for various types of fee collection, affiliation and other fees from affiliated colleges, receipts like processing fee etc, engineering section processing fee etc. “Once we finalise the e-payment gate-way service provider, we will use them for all kinds of payments and receipts,” said Shivappa.
